A Waiting You Can't Rush

On Tuesday, in our morning meditation and journal practice, the word “almost” came up.
I was mostly speaking about the weather… my winter fatigue… and how I’m starting to feel a little impatient for spring to arrive.
How spring is almost here.

This week, I’ve been thinking about that word—almost—as a kind of threshold.
A word that places you right at the edge of something… without quite letting you cross over.

Sometimes, almost feels like excitement.
Something good just within reach… something you’ve been moving toward… just about to arrive.
A bright, buzzing sense of anticipation.

And sometimes, almost feels like the other side of that.
Stuck. Suspended.
Waiting for something that doesn’t quite happen… or hasn’t happened yet.
The kind of almost that lingers longer than you expected.

Both of those experiences live somewhere in the body.
Words like this, words that sit in the in-between, often land in the body before they ever reach the mind.

And that’s what we’re here to explore.
Not to think about the word… but to sense it.

To let the body be the guide.

So let’s begin by just getting comfortable.
