Nothing to Do, Nowhere to Be

A practice for when you are tired of optimizing

(Click the audio above for a short preview. Paid subscribers, your full meditation is ready for you. Recorded at home, unedited. A few stumbles, a little background noise. I hope you enjoy.)

This meditation is called Nothing to Do, Nowhere to Be, and I want to be upfront with you: it’s not going to ask much of you. There’s no technique to learn. No particular way to breathe or sit or hold your attention. I’m not going to guide you through something complicated.

What I am going to do is just... be with you for a bit. And invite you to be with yourself.

I think a lot of us come to meditation carrying this pressure to do it right. To get something out of it. To finally be the person who has a consistent practice, who feels calm afterward, who doesn’t spend the whole time thinking about what’s for dinner.

I’ve been teaching and practicing for a long time, and I still think what’s for dinner.

So this practice is for all of us who are a little tired of optimizing. Who are good at doing and less practiced at simply being.

That’s it. That’s the whole premise.

So when you are ready, let’s begin…

~Robyn
