Earlier this week, during our Tuesday Morning meditation and journal practice, I shared a little story about my garden—how, when family members wandered through and noticed the flowers growing among the vegetables, they asked why I’d mix the two. And my first thought was, why wouldn’t I? (There is an intention behind combining the two, but I will share that in a later post.)
As I sat with that question, I realized how much I value both beauty and function, how, for me, thoughtful design and small moments of beauty aren’t extras. They’re essential. They’re part of what makes a space feel alive and tended.
In the meditation this morning, we’ll turn inward and take time to notice the shape of our inner gardens (pardon the direct comparison)—the places inside of us that are blooming, the spots that might feel overgrown or untended, the parts we’ve designed with care, and the ones we’ve built out of necessity.
No judgment. Just a quiet noticing.
Maybe asking:
Where have I created beauty in my life?
Where has function taken over?
And what is truly worth tending now?
Let’s begin…
