Happy Thursday, everyone!
I hope your week has found a nice rhythm, with just enough effort to feel productive and some ease mixed in too.

It’s been a full week for me so far, and I can feel it. I was away from the farm over the weekend to host a bridal shower in town. It's always nice to get away, and then it feels so good to return home, doesn’t it? But the moment I got back, I hit the ground running. There was no denying that the garden was calling, or rather, demanding my time.

It’s that point in the gardening season when everything needs to get in the ground now! All of the seedlings I’ve been tending for months, as well as the many plants that need to be directly sown... it’s all happening at once. With the cooler spring, it feels like I’m cramming a few weeks of labour into just one, and honestly, my body is sore and my mind is a little scrambled from the push.

What stood out to me this week, though, was how I talked to myself in the middle of it all. Every so often, I could feel the overwhelm creeping in. I’ve been alone this week, so it’s all up to me, and I could feel that tightening in my chest, the racing thoughts: How will I get it all done? Am I already behind? What am I missing or forgetting?
And somewhere in the midst of that, a little phrase started showing up, almost like a mantra:

“I can only do what I can do… just one step at a time.”

The thought was simple, and it helped. Every time I repeated it, I felt a bit of space open up and the pressure eased. I could focus on just one small task—plant one row, water one tray, take one breath—and let that be enough.

And really, that’s not so different from our practice here.
We work with one breath at a time. One moment of presence. After another.
However it unfolds, it’s enough.

So today, I thought we could rest in that idea, a quiet renewal with simplicity.
Let’s let go of the need to do or be anything more than we are right now.
Let’s return to what’s essential. What nourishes. Just one breath at a time.

Let’s begin.
