Spring Awakening

A Mindfulness Meditation of Renewal

Good morning everyone, happy Thursday.
I’m so glad you’re here.

I hope you woke up with the scent of May in the air. It’s my favourite month of the year (not only because of Mother’s Day and it’s my birthday month ) but it feels like we get to start fresh, just like the Earth is doing.

Our lawn and the fields are greening up. Buds are swelling on the trees, the daffodils are everywhere, and a mama robin is trying to make a nest in a basket on our porch. Everything is about to pop with the stretch of warm weather we have forecasted for the next week, and I am ready to reset myself.

It’s time for me to sink my hands into the earth again. To end each day with the feeling of being windswept and sun-kissed. A return to dirt under my nails, and mornings with tea and evenings with a glass of wine on the porch, listening to the birds.

May marks the end of my winter hibernation. And to be honest, I’ve been a little resistant to letting it go. It was a deep winter of rest, and it was exactly what I needed.

So, this reawakening is necessary—not just for the Earth, but for me too. It’s drawing me out of my den.

I hope you’re feeling a gentle nudge to unfurl, just as the trees are beginning to open.

In our meditation this morning, I thought we could focus on awakening, and our connection to the season.

Let’s begin...
